Meet Computomics at International Horticultural Congress (IHC) in Angers, France

Computomics at IHC 2022

Computomics is present at the 31st International Horticultural Congress (IHC) in Angers, France from 14-20 August, 2020.

"Horticulture for a world in transition"

Our planet calls for change. Improving food quality (nutrition and safety), reducing chemical fertilizers and pesticides, developing resilience to climate change, enhancing natural resistance to diseases, and increasing sustainable food systems: Horticulture has the deep power to settle new ways of producing and consuming.

The International Horticultural Congress (IHC) is the most important scientific event organised every four years since 1959 in the fields related to Horticulture* under the auspices of ISHS (International Society for Horticultural Science).

ISHS is a truly global network comprising over 6,000 members. Its aim is to promote and foster research and education in horticultural science and to facilitate cooperation and knowledge transfer on a global scale through events and publications. Taking place on different continents every 4 years, IHC regroups many divisions and commissions-symposia.

The congress takes place in the Congress Centre in Angers - France's first green ciy.

Computomics is a highly innovative bioinformatics company focussing on agricultural challenges in plant breeding. We work together with breeders and growers across all crops and breeding programs to develop new varieties by applying SeedScore®, our machine learning-based predictive breeding technology. Our innovative technology transforms traditional plant breeding processes by integrating additional data such as information on the genotype, the cultivation environment, climate, soil microbiome, and the used field management to identify and predict the best-performing plants for any specific location. This allows breeders to significantly accelerate their breeding program, by identifying up to 10x more candidates to escalate into the commercial pipeline, which can reduce time to market by 3-6 years.
