“Sowing for a vibrant future” was the theme chosen by the ISF (International Seed Federation) for its 72nd Congress that took place this year in Barcelona from 16 to 18 May 2022.
Vibrant is also the perfect term to describe the three-day conference. There was a huge buzz on the trading floor, and you could feel and see that everyone was eager to meet in person again. We have experienced two years of virtual ISF World Seed Congress, and the Computomics team were really excited to be back and have a face-to-face format again.
Ruth Mayes, Director of Global Business Strategy of Computomics, says, "It's an absolute joy to be back and to meet our clients and connect with new potential clients”. We have been busy with meetings throughout the three days and discussed various breeding programs with clients. It has been great to meet the breeders who use our technology, to discuss the success from previous cycles and to plan forward for forthcoming cycles.
As an innovative bioinformatics company, Computomics works together with breeders and growers across all crops and breeding programs to develop new varieties and hybrids by applying our machine learning-based technology to predict trait performance. Applying our machine learning technology to your breeding program can help move your program way beyond current limitations. We support breeders to define their breeding targets, enabling them to breed forward each cycle by escalating elite candidates through their breeding programs, substantially reducing time to market, and predict best performers, both for today and future climates.
During the conference Ruth talked to SeedWorld about Computomics and the conference. Listen to the Giant View Interview here.
