A Recap: Computomics at Euroseeds 2026 in Valencia

Back from Valencia: What Euroseeds 2026 Told Us About AI in Plant Breeding

Every Euroseeds Congress has its own mood, and this year in Valencia something had clearly shifted. The most visible driver is AI: seed companies are rethinking how they work, R&D teams are weighing carefully where to invest next, and competition is sharpening. For us, as an AI SaaS company, the message was clear: stay close to customers' needs.

For our colleague Vesna, this Congress was significantly different from previous years. The number of meetings was similar to 2025, but conversations were far more targeted. We were able to address companies at very different points in their journey, so we always had something relevant to bring to the table. Our positioning has become much stronger, and we are increasingly part of strategic discussions. Data management companies also showed interest, as they look to broaden their portfolios, which makes us an increasingly attractive partner. Her conclusion: the transition to AI-driven breeding is already happening. With a broader offering, multiple entry points and growing credibility, we left Valencia confident about the road ahead.

The range of topics echoes a theme that ran through the whole Congress. Seed World Europe's editorial director Marcel Bruins observed that resilience kept surfacing on the programme, and argued it depends not only on contingency plans but on capable breeders and on innovations that reach fields in time. He also made the case for practical solutions over proposals that never leave the page.

We couldn't agree more. AI in breeding only creates value when it fits where a company stands today, whether that's a first clean dataset or a fully connected digital pipeline. Valencia reminded us that our job is to meet customers at exactly that point and move forward with them.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to talk. Let's keep the conversation going.
