A Recap: Computomics at ISF 2025 in Istanbul

A Recap: Computomics Experience at ISF 2025 in Istanbul

The 2025 ISF World Seed Congress, held from 19-21 May in Istanbul, brought together nearly 2,000 professionals from across the global seed sector. The event once again served as a key platform for connecting industry leaders, researchers, and technology partners committed to shaping the future of sustainable agriculture. This year’s congress emphasized the increasing need for scalable, efficient solutions in plant breeding as climate conditions continue to shift and food demands rise. Here are some of our highlights from the event.

Insightful Conversations at Table #88

The majority of conference attendants were from the commercial sector - sales representatives, product managers, CEOs, General Managers, and we also met with a few impressive people from the science world, from R&D. We were proud to be represented on the ground by our Chief Commercial Officer Juan Manuel Montes and Customer Success Manager Vesna Tabakovic who held conversations with a wide range of professionals from both new and long-standing partner companies. These discussions gave us valuable insights into the challenges breeders are facing today and the solutions they are exploring for tomorrow.
We had a series of meetings with stakeholders from across the globe, including Argentina, Brazil, and Spain. With Spanish as one of our team’s working languages, this enormously facilitated conversations in a region like South America that presents significant opportunities for climate-smart breeding.

What Stood Out at ISF 2025

We observed a steady rise in the number of companies offering digital tools and services to breeders from AI-powered drone imaging to genotyping and field data collection. While this reflects strong momentum across the sector, it also reinforced that the kind of integrated and predictive support that we offer remains unique and consistent.

By combining genomics, environmental data, soil microbiome insights, and future climate projections, our machine learning-powered xSeedScore® remains a distinct and trusted tool for data-driven breeding decisions. This ability to deliver precision and adaptability continues to set us apart.

On the Ground: A Well-Organized Event

The congress was hosted in a unique underground venue—five stories below the surface. It was a well-organized event overall, with smooth logistics, strong hospitality, and great food (though the coffee still leaves room for improvement!). Being on site, engaging in person, was a welcome change in a world that still leans heavily on virtual interaction.

We left ISF with a deeper understanding of the industry’s evolving needs, new connections, and a sense of purpose. Feedback from both the commercial and scientific communities were encouraging, and we’re grateful for the chance to engage directly with top-tier stakeholders.
ISF 2025 reminded us why we do what we do. The future of agriculture depends on smart decisions today, and we’re proud to be part of a global effort to make those decisions count.

We’re thankful to the International Seed Federation and all who made this event possible. We’re already looking ahead to continuing the conversation in Lisbon in 2026.
